Neptune

Neptune, a fearsome planet, but not a gas giant.

Neptune was a fake gas giant planet engineered and constructed by an unknown entity. The inside of the planet was rigged to a giant time bomb, which constantly was counting down into negative infinity. This time bomb was roughly the size of Old Earth.

Great Mysteries

Neptune was, on the surface, just another gas giant planet. However, beneath the thick blue clouds of Neptune, a mysterious machination lurked.

Gigantic starmetal beams, sometimes stretching for miles, supported a thin glass orb, which encapsulated the planet's inner cores and time bomb. Large fabric objects resembling couch cushions dotted the inside of this hollow sphere, marked with long, incomprehensible ramblings in an indecipherable language (although they were written in human blood).

The occasional recreational vehicle or pickup truck could be spotted in this void, however no life-forms existed inside of this area, to the knowledge of the Employers.

Combine

The Combine attempted to invade and colonize Neptune in 203 BB, in the midst of their grand Omniversal conquest. They were unable to penetrate the seemingly fragile glass orb under Neptune's thick atmosphere, and every Combine starship which entered the atmosphere just so happened to be struck out of the sky by a bolt of lightning. The Combine then settled on colonizing Neptune's moon Triton, and constructed the terrible Polus Base.

Grand Blue Spot

Neptune was home to a horrible raging storm, known as the Grand Blue Spot. This storm was a quasiomniversal potency vortex, similar to Earth 2's very own Downward Spiral. Again, the origins of this spot were unknown, and it frequently vanished without warning and reappeared across the Neptunian surface.

Moons

Neptune had several moons, many of which were captured from Uranus or the Kuiper Belt. Triton was the most notable of these moons, as it orbited backwards, but this interesting moon was unfortunately a casualty of war when a high-speed collision with the Gigamagnet sent it hurtling through the comsos.
