Description:
The Ayvia, more commonly known as the Agarthian Larrybirds, were a race of sentient bird-like people that inhabited the Aktoshan Mountain Range within the Inner Earth nation of Agartha.
History:
Despite having made first contact with humanity within the Inner Earth, the Ayvia were not from there. Rather, they had originated from the border world, Xen. The history of their people pre-Inner Earth is all but forgotten, as they relied on oral tradition in their home dimension and The Grand Nihilanth's dimensional takeover of Xen had resulted in the slaying of an untold number of their people, despite their people's naturally peaceful ways. As a result, a grand majority of the Ayvian elders, who were entrusted with the passing of those traditions, were dead.
Arrival in Agartha:
Upon settling in the Inner Earth they delegated themselves to the mountains that they had teleported to as to avoid any potential conflicts with any native species. Despite this, the Agarthians had very quickly discovered their existence. Thankfully, the Agarthians were a peaceful people who were more than happy to accept the Ayvia into their territory. Despite the acceptance from the Agarthians, the Ayvia remained in their settlements in the mountains, as they did not yet fully understand the world they now inhabited. The surviving Ayvian tribes began collectively focusing on perceiving their displacement in the dimensional fold and quickly came to understand that they had transferred themselves to the 3rd Dimension of the Omniverse. They were all collectively relieved, as they were worried that The Grand Nihilanth may seek to finish them off if it were to understand that they had escaped.
A Secret Unveiled:
As time passed, the Ayvia became more and more aware of the dimensional structure around them and began to develop their abilities around it, coming to understand that they could mold the very fabric of existence around their will. The Ayvian High Priests all collectively decided that this power could not fall into the wrong hands and their entire race was sworn to secrecy. By the decree of the High Priests, only beings that could prove themselves worthy of their power through The Trials of Azhmek could be bestowed it. Given their proximity and friendly relations, many Agarthian kings, including Alexander The Great, came to wield the Ayvia's reality magicks. The royalty of Agartha kept this secret arguably better than the Ayvia themselves, as knowledge of the magicks by unauthorized persons was punishable by death.
The Agartho-Employer War:
For millennia the Ayvia lived in relative peace, remaining under the protection of the Agarthian Empire. Their small settlements in the mountains had grown in spectacular size, going so far as to be considered their own province by the Agarthian royalty many years ago. However, this peace would be short-lived. Following the revelation of Bilb Gate as the Auditor, the Agarthian Empire coalesced their resources into one massive assault force never before seen in the history of their empire, with the sole goal of removing Employeric influence from the face of the planet. The Agartho-Employer War, as it would come to be known, was initially very much in the Agarthian's favor. Alexander The Great's previous conquests in the Inner Earth had lended him quite a number of years of commanding experience, and he used it to great effect against the Waifurian Empire. The Waifurians were, at the time, in the middle of expanding across the Milky Way, leaving their available resources to combat the Agarthian invasion very limited. Victory for Agartha seemed all but assured, until the Waifurian military-industrial complex was finally in full gear and was fully utilized by the combined genius of both Samur Haydeen and Director Phovus resulting in a surprising defeat for the Agarthians. Alexander The Great had been slain in the Waifurian counterattack, by Director Phovus himself no less, and Agarthian morale plummeted. Once the Antarctic Portal was discovered and the fighting reached the Inner Earth itself, Agartha began to collapse in on itself. Neighboring countries began to carve deep into Agarthan holdings, reclaiming lands conquered from eons ago and the Waifurians marched ever onward to the capital of Agartha.
Khorian Terror:
Having faced the Agarthian King himself, Phovus desired nothing more than to uncover that power he had used against him in combat. Whatever it was, it was capable of nullifying Dissonance Energy, and that kind of power simply could not be allowed to exist. Phovus personally led the assault on the Agarthan Imperial Palace, joined by several dozen Superpredators. He murdered anyone unable or unwilling to provide him with the information he sought, until finally he found the Imperial Archivist and nearly rendered him insane from torture utilizing Dissonance Energy. He told Phovus of the Ayvia, and the unbelievable power they held from the reality magick. Phovus spared the archivist, but he took his own life out of shame. The Agartho-Employer War soon ended with the capture of the Agarthan capital, the Agarthians soon fled, both into the far reaches of space and the deepest pits of the Inner Earth. Upon his betrayal of Samur Haydeen, Phovus almost immediately began searching for the Ayvian, to ensure their power could not be used against him. Phovus soon marched on the entire province of the Ayvia with 11 Waifurian legions, many of them former NCRI members, and massacred every single Ayvian he came across. The men, the women, and yes, even the children too. Only a small handful of the Ayvia survived, having escaped into the far reaches of the Aktoshan Mountains. Satisfied with his belief that the power he had faced earlier was finally eradicated from the 3rd Dimension, Phovus returned to the surface of Earth.
Exiles of a Dead Race:
The surviving Ayvia inevitably found one another, and built an almost undetectable temple. Here they would live out their lives, and continue to study the magicks that had doomed their people. This way of life continued for them for quite some time, eons it felt like, until one day a knock rang on the stone doors of their temple. It had been several thousand years since the slaughtering of their race, yet they all recognized the symbol that the man that now stood before them wore. It was the Waifurian Imperial Armed Forces crest, albeit faded. The strongest of the Ayvia readied themselves to engage in combat with the intruder, until the hooded figure revealed himself as none other than Rick Hernia. Rick explained to them that he was not here to hurt them, and that he wore his former Waifurian attire as a tribute to an old friend. He apologized profusely to them on behalf of Waifuria, acknowledging that they were owed a debt that could never be fully repaid, to which the surviving Ayvia were initially silent. However when Rick explained his reason in seeking them out, that being that he was seeking to prevent the return of Director Phovus to the mortal plane, they set aside their objections and obliged in teaching him the now-ancient reality magicks gifted to the Agarthian kings so long ago.
Epilogue:
It is not entirely known what happened to the Ayvia following their contact with Rick, as they all disappeared. Some believe they returned to Xen following the defeat of The Grand Nihilanth, while others believe they simply retreated further into the mountains, and a select few believe they discovered a way to ascend to the Outervoid, joining the ranks of the Employers themselves. Regardless of whichever is true, their impact on Omniversal history is undeniable.
