Backpacker's Lookout was a modest settlement on Orra 20 that was a popular tourist attraction for high-altitude hikers and Geocachers. The Lookout was a few miles away from the Fossilbane Mountain Ridge, which ran along the edge of the planet's southern tropic line. It had a population of 60, with about half being native Orranians and half being the descendants of Combine Slaves from Vilmar. The leader of Backpacker's Ridge was Sheriff Grey; a Vilmarian who had betrayed the Combine in its waning years and led his family to freedom on Orra 20. It was the site of a Battle in the early stages of the 3rd Great META War; the first of its kind to see civilians face not a military power but the OmniStar corporation.
