Gordon Freeman, in the flesh, or rather, in the hazard suit, was a freedom fighter and genius scientist who worked at the Black Mesa Research Facility in the American Southwest.
Science Career
At Black Mesa, Gordon with the world’s foremost experts in radiation and particle sciences, studying captured Combine materials and creatures from the Great META War. They used Xen crystals to create anti-Combine weaponry, which would prove decisive. Gordon Freeman also assisted in the Construction of the Gigamagnet, which was used to vanquish the Combine from Earth permanently.
Stasis
In 0 A.B, Gordon Freeman became the subject of a revolutionary stasis experiment at the Black Mesa Research Facility. He was inundated and put into a medically-induced coma, and placed into a stasis chamber. The experiment, ultimately a success, was prolonged beyond the initial 3 week test period when Gordon exhibited no negative affects whatsoever from the Coma.
