Siege of Buffalo

The Siege of Buffalo was a 14 hour long battle during the Great META War between the forces of the Separatist Republic of Ohio and the United States of America. It is noted as one of the heaviest losses of civilian life for a single battle, with over 3/4ths of the city's population having been killed during the fighting. Almost the entire city was flattened in the fighting, with only 17% of the city's buildings remaining standing. The siege is noted as being the primary reason for Buffalo's total abandonment in the decades following the end of the Great META War. The city was later converted into a heritage site for the fallen of the 1st Great META War during the Aftertimes Initiative. The heritage site would later be demolished and 8 separate JF Sweet's Corp. Shopping Malls would be built on top of it, and consequently the hundreds of thousands of corpses from the siege. This would cause the tragedy that was the Mall Hauntings of '25.
