Uranus, one of the least interesting looking celestial objects in the Rick Omniverse.

Uranus was the third and final gas giant in the Solar System. Uranus was a bizarre planet, as it was rotated exactly 90 degrees in relation to its orbital plane. This was due to a horrid Bwemer blunder.

Civilization

Uranus was colonized by the Bwemer, soon after the Dawn of the Omniverse. Omniversal historians struggled to understand why of all the planets in the system, (2 of which were teeming with life already), the Bwemer chose to colonize the ice giant Uranus. Some theorized it may have been due to the abundance of Methane in the atmosphere of Uranus, which was a crucial staple in the Bwemer diet.

The Bwemer constructed a massive floating sky station, which became known as Bwemmenhold. Similar to the cloud cities of Jupiter, the Bwemmenhold floated through the atmosphere, acting as one of the first Omniversal metropolises.

Bwemer Expansion

The Bwemer continued expanding the Bwemmenhold, until it became so large that it covered approximately 10% of the surface area of Uranus. Many of the Bwemer wanted to cease expansion, as the support structures deep in the city's core were beginning to buckle and snap. The Bwemer Mayor, however, insisted that expansion continue, and claimed that all of Uranus would become covered in an artificial Bwemer continent.

The continent eventually grew so massive and so top-heavy that it began sinking into the atmosphere of Uranus. The thin breathable layer of Uranus' atmosphere which the Bwemer had inhabited was eventually too far up for them to use, and the Bwemer developed special filtration suits designed to withstand the noxious rain and high windspeeds of the lower Uranian Atmosphere.

The Grand Tilting

In 10 years, the Bwemmenhold was almost halfway to the molten core of Uranus. Most of the Bwemer had either fled or perished, but several sentient androids remained, performing all of the vital functions to keep the Bwemmenhold intact. Eventually, though, the windspeeds became too much for even the Bwemer durasteel to handle, and the Bwemmenhold was swept up in a gust of wind and began a downward spiral towards the core of Uranus.
