Work Life
edit edit sourceDr. Tyren White was a head scientist at the Black Mesa Research Facility. Tyren was responsible for the creation of the M.T.O HEV suit and MOMAES, a dimension-shifting power suit. Tyren also developed the long-term Stasis experiment which Gordon Freeman would volunteer for in 0 AB. Tyren was world-renowned for his research on molecular science and quantum physics, but excelled in almost every area of basic physics and chemistry.
Tyren White was a distant descendant of the Postal Dude, and an ancestor to future Waifurian Emperor Walter Hartwell White.
MOMAES
edit edit sourceMOMAES, or Mechanized Orbital Movement Amplifying Exploration Suit, was a high-tech set of armor designed to be worn in high-radiation environments, with the capability to shift between realities and timefractures. Tyren's early tests were wildly successful, however the project was later abandoned when a mysterious power outage to the Black Mesa Facility resulted in all of the MOMAES research materials going missing.
It's thought that the early Waifurian Empire may have sabotaged and stolen the technology, in fear of ordinary people having too much freedom to maneuver as they chose through time and space.
Immunity to Disease
edit edit sourceTyren altered his own genetic makeup to make himself immune to diseases of almost any kind, and subsequently began smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol constantly while on the job. Tyren was shunned by his colleagues for these destructive decisions, among other things. Tyren was caught several times snorting Xen crystals in the break room.
Ostracization by the Scientific Community
edit edit sourceTyren was an incredibly nonchalant and blunt individual, and many of his colleagues found his demeanor frustrating or infuriating. Tyren was always punctual to events he thought were important- but could be dreadfully late to almost everything else. Tyren frequently spilled coffee on himself and his coworkers, in (successful) attempts to aggravate the other scientists, who Tyren often referred to as "stuck up bags of bones".
