Uranus

From The Rick Hernia Omniverse Wiki
Uranus, one of the least interesting looking celestial objects in the Rick Omniverse.

Uranus was the third and final gas giant in the Solar System. It was home to the Commonwealth of Uranian Municipalities (CUM) and the largest cloud city in Omniversal History, Ourana.

Uranus was a bizarre planet, as it was rotated exactly 90 degrees in relation to its orbital plane. This was due to a horrid Bwemer blunder.

Uranus was colonized by the Bwemer, soon after the Dawn of the Omniverse. Omniversal historians struggled to understand why of all the planets in the system, (2 of which were teeming with life already), the Bwemer chose to colonize the ice giant Uranus. Some theorized it may have been due to the abundance of Methane in the atmosphere of Uranus, which was a crucial staple in the Bwemer diet.

The Bwemer constructed a massive floating sky station, which became known as Bwemmenhold. Similar to the cloud cities of Jupiter, the Bwemmenhold floated through the atmosphere, acting as one of the first Omniversal metropolises.

Bwemer Expansion

edit edit source

The Bwemer continued expanding the Bwemmenhold, until it became so large that it covered approximately 10% of the surface area of Uranus. Many of the Bwemer wanted to cease expansion, as the support structures deep in the city's core were beginning to buckle and snap. The Bwemer Mayor, however, insisted that expansion continue, and claimed that all of Uranus would become covered in an artificial Bwemer continent.

The continent eventually grew so massive and so top-heavy that it began sinking into the atmosphere of Uranus. The thin breathable layer of Uranus' atmosphere which the Bwemer had inhabited was eventually too far up for them to use, and the Bwemer developed special filtration suits designed to withstand the noxious rain and high windspeeds of the lower Uranian Atmosphere.

The Grand Tilting

edit edit source

In 10 years, the Bwemmenhold was almost halfway to the molten core of Uranus. Most of the Bwemer had either fled or perished, but several sentient androids remained, performing all of the vital functions to keep the Bwemmenhold intact. Eventually, though, the windspeeds became too much for even the Bwemer durasteel to handle, and the Bwemmenhold was swept up in a gust of wind and began a downward spiral towards the core of Uranus.

By the time it had reached the core, the Bwemmenhold had been crumpled into a highly reactive ball of molten metals, which whipped around the Uranian Core at 10 orbits per minute. Soon, the Bwemmenhold and the Uranian Core began ripping each other apart, permanently damaging the magnetic integrity of the planet and sending the South Magnetic pole flying up into the northern hemisphere. The Bwemmenhold scrap molded into the eastern portion of the new Uranian Core, and over time, slowly pulled the planet's rotational axis down to a right angle with the planet's orbitial plane.

Waifurian Gas Depot

edit edit source

In the time of the Waifurian Empire, Uranus was used as a refueling station for Waifurian ships and transports alike, as the atmosphere was the perfect mixture of gases to act as fuel for these advanced technologies. This later made it the perfect candidate for the remnants of the Waifurian Empire to rebuild upon, selling Uranian gas at astronomic prices in order to finance the breakneck construction of Ourana.
