This period of peace came to an abrupt end following an invasion by the Gorbs, a species of green creatures who decimated approximately ninety-nine percent of the Dominion's original population. In response, the Dominion underwent a total civilisational transformation, restructuring itself along militaristic lines. It subsequently launched a retaliatory campaign that resulted in the complete destruction of the Gorb species.

Following this conflict, the Dominion faced the critical challenge of population collapse. In response, the ruling civilisation organised what was recorded as the largest mass reproductive event in the history of the Sagittarius A system. The event resulted in significant transmission of sexually transmitted diseases throughout the population, though the resulting population growth was considered to have justified the undertaking by Dominion historians.

The Dominion later entered what was designated the Radiology Reindustrial Era, during which the civilisation developed the technological capacity for interstellar and intersolar travel. It then embarked on a campaign of interplanetary expansion, conducting hundreds of thousands of wars across multiple systems over a prolonged period. The ultimate objective of this expansion was a multi-stage operation, the later phases of which involved the approach to and intended subjugation of the planet Earth, designated as Step 4 of the operation.

The Radiology Reindustrial Era

The Radiology Reindustrial Era was a pivotal epoch in the history of the Interplanetary Dominion, marking the period during which the civilisation successfully developed the technological means to travel between solar systems. The era followed the Dominion's post-Gorb military restructuring and the subsequent population recovery period, representing a new phase of civilisational ambition and capability.

Among the most significant technological achievements of this era was the weaponisation of stellar energy. The Dominion developed the capacity to harness the energy of stars and to deploy supernovae as instruments of warfare, a capability which was later used against enemies of the Dominion in conflicts during the reign of Preomordikat III. The civilisation that the Dominion utilised this technology against has been redacted from surviving records for security reasons.
